ABOUT V&B

Hello, I’m Katie

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas, supervised by Debra Lewis, LPC-S. During a period of major life changes, I experienced firsthand how transformative therapy can be. That personal growth inspired me to pursue counseling as a career. Through my own journey, I discovered a deep passion for helping others navigate their challenges and find clarity, resilience, and healing.

My Background

I earned my undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University (Wreck 'Em!) and my master’s from Lamar University. With over a decade in public education and experience as a high school guidance counselor and group practice therapist, I’ve cultivated the skills to meet clients where they are and help them grow. Moving into private practice allows me to offer personalized care in a supportive, welcoming space where clients feel truly heard and valued.

 Specialties & Approach

I provide therapy for individuals seeking support with a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, and personal growth. My practice is open to working with a wide range of individuals, including older teens, young adults, and adults. Whether you are navigating stress, processing past experiences, or working toward healthier relationships, I offer a supportive and personalized approach to help you move forward.

SPECIALTIES:

While I am trained to work with a wide variety of concerns, I have specialized experience in:

  • Helping individuals develop coping strategies to manage overwhelming thoughts, emotions, and physical symptoms.

  • Supporting those who want to explore early relational wounds, improve emotional security, and break unhelpful patterns.

  • Assisting individuals in understanding and improving relationship patterns, communication, and connection.

  • Providing guidance during major life changes, including career shifts, relationship changes, and personal development.

  • Offering a compassionate, safe space to explore and process past experiences that may impact your present life.

THERAPEUTIC APPROACH & MODALITIES:

I draw from evidence-based and integrative approaches tailored to each individual’s unique needs, including:

  • Exploring how early relationships shape current emotional patterns and interpersonal dynamics.

  • Helping individuals reframe their experiences and take an empowered role in their personal story.

  • Helping individuals identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns while incorporating practical skills for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness..

  • Incorporating body awareness and present-moment practices to support emotional regulation and healing.

  • Creating a nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, valued, and supported in your growth.

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and I work collaboratively with clients to determine the best approach for their goals. My goal is to provide a warm, nonjudgmental, and affirming space where individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change.
